This unique product allows passengers to check-in and tag bags securely away from the airport for the first time, completing the digital transformation of the check-in process.
Eliminate the negative passenger experience of them checking-in online from their smart phone or tablet, receiving digital boarding passes, only to be frustrated by having to still join long queues at the airport to check their bags in.
Using eTag, the on line check-in process is extended via the airline’s App to include bags. Passengers can now arrive at the airport with both their boarding pass and their bags tagged with the smart two sided eTag, ready to be dropped off at departures – in a fraction of the time.

POST COVID-19

The airport experience promises to be very different in the wake of COVID-19, passengers will be required to socially distance themselves form other passengers, new airport systems and checks will be introduced and the time spent at the airport may increase.
As an industry we need to find new imaginative, but safe, ways of reducing contact points during the user journey, without introducing yet more delays. eTag can facilitate all contactless with staff and machines during the entire baggage check-in process.
  • eTag facilitates social distancing by reducing or even removing the check -in queues and the multiple human or machine interfaces. The passenger only interacts with their own hardware during the entire check-in process
  • eTag provides the ability to complete the off site check-in process, allowing the passenger to arrive at the airport with their bags checked-in and tagged. At the airport a simple drop off point will weigh the bags before insertion into the baggage handling system

Product Summary

eTag is the only double sided electronic bag tag, allowing it to behave in exactly the same way as the current paper tags, Like a paper tag, eTag securely attaches to the handle of your case, it is not permanently attached to the case and can be easily swapped to another case. By attaching to the handle eTag does not cause any damage to your case.

PROXIMITY ALARM

The system features a proximity alarm which is ideal when travelling on busses or trains where cases are often placed in hallways or luggage racks. Whenever your case is out of reach, our smart phone will warn you. You will also receive notification when your case reconnects to your device, for example when the case is on the collection belt.

HOW DO I KNOW ETAG MEETS THE REQUIRED STANDARDS?

We have been able to work with some world class companies, including airlines, who have helped us to understand and define the standards required for this product. eTag has been developed to meet all the mandatory standards such as CE, FCC, FAA and IATA. We ensure that all components of the electronic bag tag are UL certified, the eTag and the production line will also be UL certified.

Yes. The barcode information displayed by eTag, can only be generated by airline Departure Control Systems. We are working with the major DCS providers to achieve industry wide connectivity.

DO I NEED TO RECHARGE ETAG?

No, eTag contains primary batteries which will provide sufficient power for several hundred flights.
